Can Skin Rashes Be Calmed and Healed With an All Natural Conduit

Now and again we suffer from skin rashes whether it’s an allergic reaction, bug bite or just hormonal occurrences. And all at the wrong time, wrong place with no quick resolve. But here are a few items that every woman should have coveted in her purse and home for those OMG occasions.

Quick Fix for Skin Rashes that occur all-of-a-sudden while away from home

• I always keep a product with Aloe Vera in my purse; it will help calm any itching and goes to work to begin healing right away. If you can find it in a stick form, it will work for chapped lips, burnt skin from small sunburns and to calm redness and itching.

Overnight solution for Skin Rashes

• Mix a small cup of baking soda with water and apply to the rash. Baking soda has natural healing properties that take the sting and itching sensation away. It is also great for all types of burns and was one of the ingredients hospitals used for burn patients. This mixture can be messy when applied but it has this cooling affect that works quick.

Do not apply alcohol to skin rashes. Although it feels cool it can strip the skin of essential oils and makes the skin rash look more inflamed and red. Instead use witch hazel and dab on with a cotton ball.

After a few applications of the baking soda, apply Aloe Vera to the area.

• Another great natural solution for skin rashes are cucumbers. Strain or juice some cucumbers and apply the juice directly to the skin rash. It has a cooling effect and will draw out the redness from the skin.

Help with Eczema and Psoriasis

• There really isn’t a cure for eczema or psoriasis but it can be effectively treated so that it stops continuous breakout episodes. Apply creams or essential oils containing calendula, fish oil or omega 3 oils and take probiotic vitamins.
• Many times if you detox your body you’ll notice the eczema or psoriasis will improve. This doesn’t mean you’re cured but it can open up a new way of living for you.

The Bottom Line - Naturally Organic vs. Chemically Confused

Coming to an Inbox near you

Can You Erase Lines and Wrinkles to look Younger?

There is a fine line between erasing lines and wrinkles and making them less visible. Lines and wrinkles come from years of smiling, squinting, sun exposure and simple aging of the skin.

As we age the collagen and elasticity in our skin begins to break down. Simple facial expressions throughout the years are also a contributor but what can you do? Botox your entire face or become emotionless? I don’t think that’s a practical answer to an on-going problem.

The real problem here is that we all want everything Now! There are real solutions that don’t include a needle, scalpel or doctor’s office.

There are a few measures you can take to prevent lines and wrinkles but nothing short of an evasive surgical procedure will erase them. Minimize and make less visible is a definite.

Practical measures to take:

• Wear Sun screen every day
• Wear Sun Glasses that wrap around to protect the entire eye area
• Limit your sun exposure since it breaks down the collagen and weakens the skin
• Use topical creams that have potent antioxidants and moisture-rich ingredients to keep the skin hydrated. You’ll also want to use creams and gels that fight off free-radicals and contain peptides that will reduce the depth of the lines and wrinkles.

The simplest solution to decreasing the signs of lines and wrinkles is hydration and sunscreen. As we age skin becomes thinner and more susceptible to damage. There are plenty of hydrating mask, moisturizers and creams to build up the skins thickness.

The uses of natural products work double duty to prevent premature aging. Look for ingredients that nourish the skin while protecting it. Many conventional products on the market today claim to use natural organic ingredients while at the same time infuse chemicals into the products. How can you help and hinder the aging process and then claim it’s natural and organic?

Always compare and educate before believing the marketing hype.

Confessions of a Anti-Aging Beauty Junkie

Are you a beauty junkie? Looking at all four points for any and everything to halt the aging process? Many of you out there are undercover beauty junkies flipping though magazines, walking the aisles of your favorite all-purpose pharmacy store searching for the next best item.

This is one of the biggest problems in the beauty industry. The problem doesn’t occur when you buy all the items, although it must be making quite a dent in your pockets. The problem occurs when you start to mix all the products hoping for a quick miracle. You place so many products on your skin that you’re in overload mode.

Your skin is confused! And by the way, do you know which product worked best?

We all just want to know that one miracle cure for aging and then desperation moves in for the kill. That one commercial that swears their product will produce results in 7 days. And by the end of the night you’ve watched keywords that bombard your reasoning until the next day you feel compelled to buy several of the products you’ve seen on TV.

Here’s a fact you can count on – natural organic products work best for your anti-aging concerns. They’ve been working for years it just wasn’t marketed to the masses.

In fact, natural organic products work so well even the chemically-confused corporate beauty marketers are joining in on the band wagon.

But before you believe their hype ponder this…if you mix the good with the bad does that make it good for you?

If they add organic products to chemicals does it neutralize the chemicals and still remain a natural product? I don’t think so!

Propaganda and marketing can obviously turn products to gold but that doesn’t mean the product can actually work its magic for you.

Beauties beware because smoke and mirrors are abound.

Avoid Aging - Take Care of Your Skin

Playing the avoidance game with aging can be quite the challenge and a lot of people have been known to lose a match or two. But, could the reason people lose be because they are not taking care of their skin the right way?  Or maybe it’s because they are buying everything that they see on a television commercial or the internet as the latest and greatest anti-aging solution. In all reality, most of these products are just gimmicks and could be adding to the aging process due to the absorption of chemicals through the that occurs from their ingredients

Non-Surgical Face Lift in a Bottle…say yes to this alternative before going to your surgeon

Everyone would rather embrace a non-surgical face lift than the dicing and slicing in the doctor’s office. With all the major breakthroughs in anti-aging techniques only those that still want results quick, fast and in a hurry are lining up for the scalpel.

Concern about getting older takes over no matter what age you are; your 20s, 30s, 40s even your 70s and you’re still wondering what more can you do to retain that youthful look. But a non-surgical face lift is often the last thought. The major factor is the loosening and wrinkling of skin. Collagen is needed to keep skin firm and tight however the molecule is way too big to effectively benefit you in a topical solution. You need an alternative solution that impacts skin in the same way.

For the alternative non-surgical face lift, look for products that contain Seaweed Extract, Keratin, Green Tea Extracts and Mango to reinforce collagen production that will in-turn tighten your skin.

Another great ingredient to utilize that has shown amazing benefits to skin is CoEnzymeQ10; it revitalizes skin, increases cell production and penetrates deep within the cell layers to tighten and fight against wrinkles.

Every woman I know has a cabinet full of products they either love or basically has pushed to the back and never threw away so the product just sits there enjoying shelf life. The game of hit and miss with products becomes expensive and time-consuming and this is one of the reasons many of us run to a physician’s office.

I want here and now just like everyone else but instead of taking such an invasive route to the familiar “cut with stitches” I’ve learned to invest my time wisely – finding out what natural ingredients would benefit me over time. And you know it doesn’t take months and years to notice the results.

Most surgical procedures are done in an instant but what’s the recovery time? a few weeks to completely recover? A non-surgical face lift would start working right away without the mirror effects of what you’ve just done.

Choosing to use a natural organic ingredient for a few weeks can render the same results if you use it daily. So you’re not really getting quick in a hurry results with surgery because black and blue telltale signs take time to heal but natural creams and cleansers reveal beauty without all the bumps and bruises.

OMG! I Woke Up With Facial Wrinkles!

Facial wrinkles; under eye wrinkles, upper lip wrinkles and wrinkles around my mouth; how could it happen so fast? We all wonder if there’s a specific day in time that we’re suppose to unveil old age. Does anyone notice that first sign? That first wrinkle that smiled back at you to give you a hint that others were on the way?

Yet, while we all know wrinkles and gray hair lay somewhere in our future we take obscure steps late in life to halt time’s wand. By now we all know that natural products work best to delay the effects of aging. When should start? As early as possible with the best ingredients the earth has to offer.

The best way to delay wrinkles from invading your life is to keep your skin clean and moist. Mature skin looses elasticity and begins to sag and wrinkle. The sun also breaks down our skins defenses and dries it out. As we age many of us let our guard down and change our skin care regimen. We might cleanse and forget to moisturize or stop any sun block altogether.

Natural products work without any chemicals and are specifically chosen to fight against premature aging. Bonita Botanicals Firming Sweet Orange and Tea Leaf Body Lotion promotes skin cell renewal and continuously hydrates dry skin. And the Line Reducing Protein Serum reduces fine lines with a blend of antioxidants.

Proper cleansing, moisturizing and nurturing throughout the years will continuously regenerate new skin cells and always unveil the vibrancy in your skin. But you must start early.

Many women don’t think about aging until they hit their late 30’s or even the 40’s. That’s because this is the time wrinkles first start to appear for some. Now is not the time to embrace “why worry if it’s not affecting you”. Becoming proactive about your anti-aging regimen will make all the difference to those telltale signs of your true age.

And is it really all about the actual age or just looking youthful throughout the years? There are plenty of 50, 60 and 70 year olds who don’t look their age and are not worried about the actual number. It’s more about your appearance and how to look good, right?

This is the secret – all natural products with specific ingredients to halt the hands of time. Bonita Botanicals knows all too well how to benefit from our earth.

My Mother Always Said Clean Your Face

As I am getting ready to launch the new website for Bonita Botanicals, I was thinking of other things I could refresh, so, I started reading my philosophy behind my skin care. As I read it, I realized that the idea to add natural skin care to complete my desire to help people feel good about themselves started much earlier than 20 years ago when I entered the health and fitness field.

I asked myself "why natural skin care". I especially love empowering women through the anti-aging process so I could have gone the other way. There are so many different types of skin care out there so why natural? Because that is what my mother used on me and my sisters growing up. We were an extremely poor family. She couldn't afford lotions and moisturizers for herself, never mind four kids. So I remember her washing her face with the juice from real lemons and oranges. She moisturized with olive oil! And of course she used it on us kids. My dad used to give us baths with sea salt!! Talk about exfoliation! My mother had the most beautiful skin up until the day she died. My sisters' and I have always been complimented on our skin as well. So that is why I was naturally drawn to the natural side of skin care.

I also want to help others make their skin look great as well. So all my life, and my sister Anita does the same, my Mom's advice for great skin was to keep it clean and keep it moist. How simple is that??

This Is The Only Moisturizer That Doesn't Make Me Break Out!

I recently got an email from a young man whose mother bought my products a couple months ago. She bought the Perfecting Vitamin C Antioxidant Moisturizer Cell Renewing Fruit & Glycolic Facial Cleanser two of the more popular anti-aging products. Because she subscribed to my newsletter, I threw in a couple samples of the Smoothing Mango Butter Moisture Cream with her order.

Bonita Botanicals is starting a men's skin care line but I wasn't expecting to hear testimonies prior to launching them. I received an email from my customer's son asking me how long it would take to get a jar of this moisturizer. He said "it is the only moisturizer that doesn't make me break out". Could it be the mango butter, shea butter & vitamin E with excellent healing properties and their ability to regenerate and renew cells?

BonitaBotanicals.com Will Be Down For a Couple of Weeks

To my faithful customers. I am sorry to say that Bonita Botanicals website is in a reconstruction phase. It appears that someone tried to send phishing emails from my website and to ensure the safety of the website it is best that I rebuild it. The folks at Trust Guard believe it may have been an inside job. I have my suspicions! Do not worry, I do not store any credit card information on my site so there was no information that could have been compromised.

I apologize for any inconvenience. If you would like to check out Bonita Botanicals on Facebook, go to Bonita Botanicals Face Book Page.

The Video Version of Why You Need To Take Care of Your Skin From The Inside Out

The Importance of Skin Care From the Inside Out

Billions of dollars are spent yearly on skin care products that will promise to eliminate wrinkles, relieve dryness, redness, and acne just to name a few. Currently, the baby boomer generation is obsessed with their quest to maintain a youthful appearance and have no problem spending the money to do it by paying for procedures such as botox, fillers, laser treatments etc. It is clear that prevention whether it be for cosmetic or health reasons are of huge public interest.

Whether health or cosmetic purposes, skin needs to be taken care of to prevent pre-mature aging or unhealthy skin conditions. The skin is the largest organ on our body and is the first line of defense against the environment. The outermost layer of the skin is called the epidermis and the deep layer of the skin is called the dermis. The dermis is where the blood vessels and connecting tissues such as collagen and elastin are located. Collagen and elastin are responsible for the strength and elasticity of the skin.

It is in the dermis where new cells originate. These new cells migrate to the surface of the skin and slough off. This process takes about 40 days to complete each time. The cells will come to the surface healthy and radiant in individuals that eat proper and sun protect their skin. However, new cells in those whose nutrition lack in antioxidants and essential nutrients come to the surface damaged. This is illustrated by wrinkles and lack of luster and brightness.

Although putting high quality natural products on your face to help cleanse, moisturize, and exfoliate is extremely important, it is clear that taking care of your skin from the inside out is just as important with proper nutrition. Are your new skin cells dull or radiant?

Bonita Botanicals Will Be At Children's Friend

Bonita Botanicals is involved with the charity Children's Friend. Established 175 years ago, they help the most vulnerable children. We will be at Roger Williams Park on Saturday, May 30th for the annual Walk for Children.

Bonita Botanicals will be donating 50% of gross profits from all products purchased at this event. If you live in the Rhode Island area, please join us for this important day!

Leave Those Blemishes Alone

Resist the urge!!! Skin that is broken out from a blemish is already infected with bacteria. If you pick, you will only invite more bacteria into the area leading to possible infections or scarring. Use products containing salicylic acid and and beta hydroxy to not only heal the blemish but help prevent future breakouts while aloe will help alleviate irritation.

Natural facial cleansers such as the Sweet Orange & Hemp Oil Facial Cleanser contains natural ingredients that can help to prevent and heal blemishes. The peel in the sweet orange is known to be a natural exfoliator while both the oil and the peel are used to stimulate circulation and clear blemishes. Another wonderful natural ingredient is White Willow. White Willow is a natural form of salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid widely used as an exfoliant which helps to to keep pores clean of debris.

Keeping skin clear of debris helps to reduce breakouts and therefore reducing that urge to pick.

SPF30 Broad Spectrum Sun Protector Review

Thank you to Amanda who bought and tried Bonita Botanicals SPF30 Broad Spectrum Sun Protector and loved it so much she felt compelled to write the following review on Bonita Botanical.com

by Amanda Neovo Date Added: Tuesday 26 May, 2009
I purchased this product and used it for the very first time this weekend. I had several cookouts and was in the sun quite a bit. I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved this product. I applied it prior to leaving my house, but forgot to bring it with me. I was amazed at how well it protected my skin and without re-applying. When I got home, I had some color, but was not burnt and skin was not dry. I recommend this product highly. I also used it on my seven year old son. Again, amazing.

Thank you.

Amanda

Acai Berry... Anitoxidant That is an Ounce of Prevention

Hello,

Today I would like to talk to you about the acai berry drink ... an elixir of life!! Most everyone has heard of the old saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound in cure." The acai berry is full of antioxidants which has been studied and showing many health benefits.

What do antioxidants do? They prevent the oxidation at the cellular level preventing free radicals from forming and damaging cells. Antioxidant levels are measured by what is called the ORAC value or the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity.

The USDA Human Nutrition Center at Tufts University has suggested that the daily ORAC intake from food is approximately 5000. How are you getting your antixoidants?

The Why Has To Be Big Enough

I am writing today to any and all new women entrepreneurs out there. If you read my previous blog, you will see what a hard time I just went through. That wasn't the first time I came across obstacles while trying to set my business up. However, this last time, I almost threw in the towel. The past couple weeks it was like daggers were being thrown at me and I had to dodge them. It wasn't that easy in the beginning either. I work a full time corporate job. Everything has to be done early mornings or evenings. I am relying on my own resources and before my sister became part of my business I did everything myself. There were times I just said to myself why? The economy, money etc. etc...it is so hard! WHY am I doing this!!

However, there is one important question that I just mentioned that I would ask myself when I was feeling down and felt like giving up. I would ask myself "WHY am I doing this?" If your "why" is big enough, then "your why is enough" to help you through any tough time and give you the power to keep on going.

So, whenever I feel like giving up I just think of my whys...My why is that I want to be my own person and not answer to anyone else. My why is that I want to see my dad not have to worry about money anymore and be able to travel back to his home country of the Philippines without worrying about how he can afford it. My why is that every time one of my sisters is hurting I can help them. My why is wanting to help children such as my nephew Rex who was adopted from the Philippines have a better life...

So, to all you new women entrepreneurs out there or anyone for that matter, next time you are feeling down or feel like giving up... just remember your why...

Website Hackers Are One Of The Lowest Forms of Life

I was debating whether or not to post this on this blog... which is mostly regarding my business, or should I post it on my personal blog ... bonitais.blogspot.com. Well, I decided I would post this on both of them. I'll copy and paste. It affected both my business and me personally so I guess it is o.k. Anyway, I am new at this. New at SEO, new at a business, new at blogging, new to Twitter, just new. Trying to get my skin care business Bonita Botanicals up and running and successful.

I study and buy all sorts of home study courses on how to optimize my website. So I set up a few Wordpress blogs through Wordpress Direct. Content is automatically updated regarding my topics such as skincare, fitness and health. Then I would post my own posts. O.k... maybe that was cheating but so many people do it! Well, little did I know, if you don't keep up with current versions it makes for an extremely vulnerable situation. I used my own hosting account so it was all tied in with my website. I had no idea... didn't even think of how it all ties in together.

So one day, I get an email.... my website was suspended. Shut down... some low life hacker used my website to send phishing emails out. I fixed it or so I thought, but then it happens again!! In talking with my hosting company, they told me how Wordpress in itself can be vulnerable to hackers and I had different blogs going at once. Not that Wordpress is a bad thing. So many people use it as e-commerce websites but I guess I just was unlucky!

But that's not all that happened. I deleted the blogs and started deleting all the files in my FTP account. Stupid me wasn't wearing my glasses... hit a wrong button and deleted ALL the files in my account! Now... my website is completely GONE!!

It's all better now. Thank God for back ups but I just want to say one thing about this whole experience which really had me on the verge of a breakdown. I am a new company. I don't have all kinds of money to rebuild a website and hire all these people to do this and that. I am trying really hard... overcoming all sorts of obstacles which of course are par for the course yet I refuse to give up! So, whoever hacked my website twice... you are one of the lowest forms of a human being that lived. But guess what... I survived. And so does everyone else you try to harm. Do you have nothing better to do than to try and hurt other people's hard work and scam innocent people? Do you not have a brain of your own so that you can go out and make a honest living?

Sorry... just had to get that off my chest. I guess I could blame myself for this. I guess I should have known ... wait ... I am not blaming myself ... website hackers are horrible human beings! Anyway, I set up new blogs on blogspot here. So... I had to start over again... no matter... like I said I NEVER give up.

Bonita is...

Wondering if this will go to the correct blog

Antioxidants...Good for slowing the aging process!

I just read this great article about how antioxidants can slow down aging. It goes on to state how good genes sometimes are just not enough. We all have busy lives and sometimes it can get really hectic out there, but stress in itself can be a major factor in how fast we age. However, antioxidants boost our immune system and occur naturally in food and some researchers believe that the vitamin like compounds in antioxidants are enough to help slow down the aging process.

Some important antioxidants are found in the following foods like berries, citrus, whole grains, beans and legumes, olive oil and green tea. These items are easy to find and can be added to your grocery list without a hassle.

So, eat or drink your antioxidants and help slow down aging!

My first mobile blog

Hello! My first blog is a mobile blog...go figure! I am just checking this out. Will post a story later.
